Back in 1991, when it first came out, we went and watched it on opening night and it was all we could talk about for weeks to follow. Clarice is assigned by FBI Agent, Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn) to interview Hannibal - who is locked up in a high security facility - in an effort to get into the psyche of a serial killer called Buffalo Bill, still at large, in the hopes of locating and apprehending him before he can kill again. When news of a Senator's daughter being kidnapped, by who many believe to be Buffalo Bill, is aired on television, the race is on as time begins to tick down in an effort to save her life. But, for Clarice to get Hannibal to open up, she must face her own inner demons before he will help her.
A news reporter at the time stated that when he interviewed the actor, Anthony Hopkins for his article, he was nervous and afraid - that's how convincing he was in his role as Lecter. This is one of the best movies ever made, in my opinion - a perfect film. This film grabs you by the throat and never lets go - keeping you glued to the screen and on the edge of your seat. Everything associated to this film was top notch - the acting, the cinematography, the story, the music, the pacing, the suspense and all the psychological aspects to it were second to none.
This movie comes at the highest recommend possible. A personal favorite of mine and one I have and will still watch over and over and over again.
